PRESS RELEASE:

DUAL DIRECTION DECONTAMINATION SYSTEM COMMISSIONED FOR NT GOVERNMENT

Fleetwash have recently commissioned their newest project for the NT Government with a dual directional decontamination wash bay.  The wash system is fully automatic and is controlled by the Fleetwash Automated Traffic Management System (ATMS) with traffic lights at each end of the dual direction wash bay ensuring traffic flows in one direction only at any given time.

The recently commissioned system is the Fleetwash HDD37D (“D” for decontamination) and is a fully automated wash system, providing wheel and chassis washing of all road registered vehicles. The system will apply decontamination chemical to the vehicle automatically during its passage through the wash bay through a variable dosing system.

Operationally the HDD37D is a robust, heavy infrastructure ready wash facility which is designed to provide long term performance and reliability with low cost operating and maintenance costs.

The wash facility is located on a hydraulically designed wash down bay with heavy duty galvanized steel wash grating, with removable sections  for ease of wash  pit maintenance, and with inverted angles to assist in  tyre flex and aids in removing  contaminated product from the tyre treads.  The wash system  provides for washing of vehicles up to 3 metres wide to accommodate  wide loads and with a 12 tonne axle load rating.

The HDD37D wash system operates without the requirement for manual intervention and is dual directional to provide an effective decontamination wash system from either end of the wash bay ensuring cross contamination is eliminated and provides for clean on entry and clean on exit.

The wash system is comprised of the following:

  • Fully automatic wash bay
  • Automated decontamination dosing
  • Hydraulically designed self-draining wash bay
  • 5 boom decontamination wash boom system
  • Underbody wash and inside guards
  • Wheel wash lower and outside guards
  • Wheel wash upper and lower body
  • HDD steel drive over wash grate
  • Galvanized for long life
  • Spray retention shields
  • Motor pump skid
  • Winch crane for recovery of submersible pumping system
  • Water reclaim system
  • Motor Control Centre
  • Automated Traffic Management System (ATMS)
